My specialty is writing about Japan: books, feature articles, travel pieces, interviews, book and exhibition reviews, you name it.
If you need an experienced writer to cover an event or write a timely piece with a strong point of view on breaking news or tied to an anniversary, get in touch and let's talk about it.
I can also help with travel- and culture-related web projects.

If you want to read some of the stories I have written so far, check out my portfolio.

I’m happy to travel on assignment and I'm also available to work on a regular or semi-regular basis as your Japan or Tokyo correspondent.

Photos: I love to take pictures and have illustrated a few of my stories and even a good part of my Tokyo Geek's Guide with my own photos. However, I'm not a professional photographer. If you are looking for a real pro, I'll be happy to introduce you to a few great Tokyo-based photographers I know and admire. Otherwise I can help find images from other sources (e.g. interviewees, agencies, etc.).

Tourist guide: I love Tokyo and I love to show my favorite places.
I specialize in history-, culture-, and architecture-based tours. Here are a few example:
- Searching for those young soul rebels: A time-travel walk around Shinjuku, the Japanese capital of the 1968 cultural revolution.
- Tokyo then and now: a tour of Showa-era (1926-1988) Tokyo architecture.
- Ghosts, kappa, and big-balled tanuki: an easy way to enjoy a few mild scares and ghost-induced thrills.
I can also guide you on otaku pilgrimages to some of the more famous and interesting anime and manga locations in and around Tokyo.
Mail me with your requests or get in touch through Asia Art Tours (https://asiaarttours.com/japans-best-hidden-stories/) or Tokyo Way (https://tokyoway.jp/).
